Joseph Aloba, the father of late Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Aloba (Mohbad), has reiterated his stance that his son will not be buried until a DNA test confirms the paternity of the singer’s child.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Earlier, a Magistrate Court sitting in Ikorodu, Lagos State, ordered a Deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA) test to determine whether Liam Aloba is truly the biological son of the late musician. The order was issued by Magistrate Adefisoye Sonuga following an application filed by Mohbad’s father.

In a video shared on TikTok and circulated on Sunday, Aloba alleged that certain influential individuals were attempting to delay or frustrate the process.

He also expressed concern over the handling of the matter, especially after the toxicology report reportedly produced inconclusive results. In addition, he questioned the credibility of the DNA testing centre selected for the procedure.

Aloba further stated that he is considering relocating the case outside Lagos State and may seek legal advice on transferring it to Ekiti State, which he believes could ensure a fairer process.

He maintained that the DNA test remains a key condition before Mohbad’s burial can proceed, and urged the Lagos State Government to allow the burial, while insisting that it cannot happen without the test.

In his words, he alleged: “Some powerful people have connived to use Mohbad’s death to frustrate me. After the toxicology was done, nothing came out of it, and now they have gone to pick a questionable DNA centre. If possible, we will seek to transfer the case from Lagos to Ekiti State. I will consult my lawyer on that. I am calling on the Lagos State Government to allow me to bury my son, but without DNA, we cannot proceed. It is part of the evidence.”

Mohbad died in September 2023 under controversial circumstances that triggered nationwide reactions. Since his death, legal disputes have continued over his estate, royalties, and the paternity of his son, Liam, who was born in April 2023.
