Speaking in an interview with TVC, Joshua explained that he is mindful of the image he projects on screen and the type of roles he wants to be associated with. According to him, excelling in such scenes could lead filmmakers to repeatedly cast him in similar roles, something he wants to avoid.

He noted that he is intentional about the direction of his acting career and does not want to be stereotyped through romantic or intimate roles. As he put it, he does not want to end up “kissing half the girls in Nollywood.”

Meanwhile, actress Etinosa Idemudia has shared a different perspective, arguing that passionate kissing and hugging scenes are no different from any other scenes actors perform. Speaking in an interview with Punch, she said intimacy scenes are simply part of the job and that professional actors should be able to step into character and detach once filming ends.

According to Etinosa, she feels no emotional attachment during such scenes, stressing that once a director calls “cut,” everything returns to normal.
