According to The Cable, sources reveal that Emmanuel was apprehended shortly after arriving at the EFCC headquarters in Abuja on Tuesday at approximately 12:30 p.m.

The former governor reportedly honored an EFCC invitation concerning allegations of money laundering, fund diversion, and theft, as alleged by the Network Against Corruption and Trafficking (NCAT), a civil society group.

EFCC insiders claim the petition against Emmanuel accuses him of receiving ₦3 trillion from the Federation Account over his eight-year tenure while leaving Akwa Ibom State with a ₦500 billion debt profile and unpaid projects worth ₦300 billion.
