In a joint statement released on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, seven APC LG chairmen—including Nobert Akachukwu Sochukwudinma (Aniocha South), Hilary Fada Ibude (Ika South), Austin Nnabuife (Oshimili North), Dada Okolo (Oshimili South), Oputa Knis (Ndokwa East), Dike Onah (Ndokwa West), and Churchill Edem (Ukwuani)—clarified their stance, disowning any claim of supporting Nwoko’s re-election.
While reaffirming their unwavering loyalty to President Bola Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State for a second term, the chairmen emphasized that they were not consulted or involved in any endorsement of Nwoko. They urged party members and the general public to disregard such claims.
They stressed the need for unity, discipline, and focus as the APC gears up for the 2027 elections, and called on Deputy Governor Monday Onyeme to assume a more prominent leadership role in guiding the party through the electoral preparations.
The statement reads:
“We were neither consulted nor involved in any endorsement of Senator Ned Nwoko for a second term—whether by certain ward chairmen or during any Delta North APC stakeholders meeting. Such moves do not reflect the official position of the APC at the local government level and should be disregarded.”
“As a party rooted in internal democracy and due process, all aspirants for senatorial, House of Representatives, or State Assembly positions must contribute meaningfully to party-building and prepare for transparent and credible primaries.”
They concluded by respectfully urging the deputy governor to step forward in steering the party’s affairs toward unity and electoral success.
