Sh*ckwaves In Opposition Camp As Peter Obi Speaks On Atiku’s Exit Strategy

Obi made his comments during an appearance on the Naija Unfiltered podcast on Saturday, where he described Atiku as a respected political leader and urged that his statement should be interpreted with caution.
He noted that Atiku’s comment was conditional, stressing that it included the word “if,” which makes it premature to draw conclusions about future political decisions.
Obi added that while Atiku remains an elder statesman, he himself is focused on contesting the presidential election.
He stated that he would only accept election outcomes if the process is transparent, fair, and credible, adding that his past political decisions were influenced by dissatisfaction with what he described as transactional party processes.
According to him, the integrity of the electoral process is more important than the actions of those who eventually assume office.
Obi stressed that leadership selection must follow proper procedures, warning against attempts to bypass democratic rules.
He said that legitimate processes are essential, noting that no leader can expect acceptance if they emerge through flawed or improper means.
