She Knew Something Was Wrong” – Nanyah’s Father Reveals Final Words Before Her Death

Nanyah, 26, reportedly passed away after a snake bit her while she was asleep in her home. Upon discovering the bite, she began seeking urgent medical attention and was taken to multiple hospitals, but she did not survive.

In an interview with BBC Igbo, her father, Christopher Nwangene, narrated how the incident occurred. He said his daughter called him at about 9:15 a.m. to inform him that she had been bitten by a snake.

Alarmed, he immediately asked about her location and the treatment she was receiving. According to him, she first visited a hospital where she was told there was no anti-venom available. She then went to another facility but received the same response.

She was later directed to the Federal Medical Centre, where she was informed that the required medication was available. She reportedly made her way there in an Uber. Her father said he quickly contacted his brother and asked him to meet her at the hospital.

When his brother arrived, he found her seated with an intravenous drip attached as treatment was being administered. Shortly afterward, her father called her again.

During that call, she told him she was struggling to breathe. When he asked what was wrong, she said she did not know.

Those were the final words he heard from his daughter before her passing.

He recalled, “She called me around 9:15 a.m. to say a snake had bitten her. I asked where she was and what the doctors were doing. I contacted my brother to go to the hospital immediately. When I called her again, she said, ‘Daddy, I cannot breathe.’ I asked what was happening, and she said, ‘I don’t know.’”
