BREAKING: Fubara Sweeps Cabinet Aside, Dissolves Rivers Executive Council In Sh*ck Move

All Commissioners and Special Advisers have been directed to hand over their responsibilities to the Permanent Secretaries or the most senior officials in their respective ministries.

According to TVC, the governor issued the directive on Thursday, shortly after holding a meeting with President Bola Tinubu and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, in Abuja.

The meeting, which took place on Sunday at the Presidential Villa, came against the backdrop of escalating political tension in Rivers State and a renewed impeachment push against Fubara.

Sources within the Presidency indicated that the intervention was intended to ease the crisis affecting the state’s executive and legislative arms.

The situation had intensified in recent weeks, marked by growing friction between the governor and members of the State House of Assembly. The impeachment move further deepened the uncertainty, prompting stakeholders to call for swift federal involvement.

Sunday’s high-level talks at the State House were widely viewed as a decisive effort by President Tinubu to calm the situation and foster reconciliation.

Speaking to journalists in Abuja on Tuesday after inspecting projects in the FCT, Wike expressed optimism that the protracted political crisis was close to being resolved. He described President Tinubu as a leader committed to unity, whose intervention has created a pathway toward sustainable peace in Rivers State.

Wike added that the President’s role remains crucial in stabilising governance and resolving tensions within the state.

Fubara’s decision to dissolve the cabinet is therefore being interpreted as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the truce and restore political stability in Rivers.
