Shettima Asserts Commitment To Policies Benefiting Nigerians

Vice President Kashim Shettima emphasized that the policies and programs of President Bola Tinubu’s administration are designed to best serve Nigeria’s current needs. He made these remarks on Tuesday while discussing the Renewed Hope Agenda at the APC Professionals Forum’s Policy Roundtable Conference on the “Asiwaju Score Card Series” held at the Shehu Yar’adua Centre, Abuja.

“Every country’s journey is unique. Each nation is shaped by its economic history and challenges. While we respect the efforts of other countries, our focus remains on what works best for Nigeria,” Shettima asserted.

Represented by Dr. Aliyu Modibbo, Special Adviser to the President on General Duties (Office of the Vice President), Shettima explained that the Tinubu administration’s 8-point agenda provides a solid framework for its policies and programs. Key areas of focus include job creation, economic growth, food security, poverty eradication, access to capital, upholding the rule of law, combating corruption, and promoting inclusive development.

“These initiatives are not merely plans on paper; they are actionable steps aimed at making tangible improvements in the lives of everyday Nigerians,” he elaborated.

Shettima highlighted the administration’s investments in agriculture and other sectors, aimed at reducing reliance on imports and boosting local production. He also mentioned the Renewed Hope Housing Scheme, which aims to address the housing deficit and stimulate economic growth.

“We are also committed to reducing unemployment and underemployment through various initiatives, such as the Outsource to Nigeria Initiative, investment in Digital and Creative Enterprises, and the Expanded National MSME Clinics. These programs are designed to create more job opportunities and promote economic inclusivity,” Shettima concluded
