In a statement released on Wednesday, Ade-Oba criticized the Oyebanji-led government for what he described as a failure to deliver tangible development, despite receiving substantial budget allocations.

Announcing his resignation, Ade-Oba also pledged his support for the Pro-Chancellor of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), Engr. Kayode Ojo, whom he praised as a visionary leader capable of transforming Ekiti State.

He expressed frustration with the administration’s performance, citing a lack of progress in local government areas like Irepodun/Ifelodun. Ade-Oba also condemned the marginalization of loyal party members in favor of opposition figures, who he claims are being appointed to prominent roles despite not contributing to the party’s electoral success.

“The governor is frequently absent from the state, chasing vague and undefined goals, which has led to a noticeable drop in effective governance,” he stated.

Ade-Oba said his decision to align with Kayode Ojo stems from the latter’s commitment to inclusive governance and grassroots development.

“I want to be part of a team that truly prioritizes the welfare of Ekiti people and values the hard work of its supporters,” he added, calling on others to join him in backing Ojo’s vision for the state.
