Governor Fintiri’s Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, announced in a statement on Friday that the latest appointments consist of 37 principal special assistants, 45 senior special assistants, and 21 special assistants.

These new appointments, like the earlier ones, are in line with Governor Fintiri’s vision to enhance the efficiency and people-centric nature of the government machinery.

Among those appointed as principal special assistants is Leader Leneke, a lawyer who took on roles beyond his legal training during Governor Fintiri’s first term.

It’s worth noting that Governor Fintiri’s victory in the 2023 governorship election has been upheld by the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal in Yola, the state capital.

This decision came after the dismissal of the petition filed by Dr. Umar Ardo of the Social Democratic Party (SDP). Dr. Ardo had contested the outcome of the March 18 election and Governor Fintiri’s subsequent declaration as the winner following the supplementary election on April 16.

In his petition, filed on May 8, Dr. Ardo had named INEC, Governor Fintiri, and 16 others as respondents, alleging that the election did not comply with the provisions of the Electoral Act.
