Sokoto Tragedy: Matawalle Shows Generosity With ₦10 Million Donation To Victims

Matawalle, deeply saddened by the loss caused by the airstrike in Gidan Bisa and Runtuwa villages, which also affected President Bola Tinubu, donated ₦10 million to the victims.

He made this statement on Friday during a visit to the affected villages, alongside the Governor of Sokoto State, Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto.

Governor Aliyu praised the military for its efforts in tackling terrorism and banditry in the region. He called for enhanced intelligence and surveillance measures to prevent such tragic incidents in the future.

The Sokoto State Governor also expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for the progress made in improving security across the country.

“While I commend the dedicated efforts of the military and security agencies in fighting banditry, I have urged for better intelligence and surveillance to avoid such unfortunate mistakes. Sokoto State is committed to ensuring the safety of all its citizens,” Governor Aliyu said.

“We are truly grateful for the President’s continued support in strengthening security across the state. Together, let us work towards a safer environment. May Allah grant peace to the departed and their families, and protect us from future tragedies,” he added.
