According to Soludo, President Tinubu’s government, just like its forerunner, the Muhammadu Buhari administration, lamented inheriting an almost bankrupt economy.
Speaking on Channels TV’s Politics Today, Soludo urged Nigerians to exercise patience with the present government.
He accused the Central Bank of Nigeria of engaging in the unauthorized printing of money, attributing it to the depreciation of the national currency.
The former CBN governor highlighted that this alleged illicit money printing violated the 2007 Act governing the apex bank.
He attributed the current economic challenges to the perceived imprudence of the previous government, characterizing the inherited economy as a lifeless entity. Soludo emphasized the need for Nigerians to comprehend the complexities of the situation.
