Ramaphosa is among several prominent politicians who have shown solidarity with Palestinians in response to the recent conflict in the region, which was initiated by attacks from the Hamas terror group in Israel over the past weekend.

The Israel-Hamas conflict has escalated into full-scale military warfare in the Gaza Strip over the past seven days, with reports from humanitarian organizations indicating that the war has already claimed more than 2,300 lives on both sides.

In a video posted via his official account on Saturday, titled “We pledge solidarity with the people of Palestine,” Ramaphosa stated, “As you can see, this is the national executive committee.

All of us standing here pledge our solidarity with the people of Palestine. We stand here because we are deeply concerned about the atrocities unfolding in the Middle East.

We have offered our condolences to the people of Israel and are extending our condolences to the people of Palestine.
