Staff members of the Federal Polytechnic, Ukana, in Akwa Ibom State, have initiated a seven-day warning strike to demand better treatment from management.
The strike, organized by the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Polytechnics, began with a protest march around the school premises.
Employees cited grievances including unpaid salary shortfalls, promotion arrears, and staff conversions.
Chairman of SSANIP, Mr. Tamunosiki Daka, emphasized the importance of addressing staff welfare concerns and urged President Bola Tinubu to investigate salary discrepancies dating back to 2015.
Despite efforts to engage management, the workers remain resolute in their demand for fair treatment.
