The Delta State Police Command successfully rescued three sisters who had been abducted in Egbudu-Akah, Aniocha South Local Government Area. SP Bright Edafe, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, made this revelation via his social media handle on Tuesday, March 26.

Edafe reported, “Yesterday, on March 24, 2024, the command executed the rescue of three sisters who were reportedly kidnapped in Egbudu-Akah, Aniocha South LGA. Additionally, one of the suspected kidnappers was apprehended.”

He further elaborated that the sisters were promptly reunited with their families, thanks to the vigilance of a concerned community member who noticed the kidnappers attempting to drag the girls into the bush.

Moreover, during routine stop-and-search operations conducted on the same day, the police intercepted a suspected cultist and confiscated a locally crafted cut-to-size double barrel gun.

“In Agbor on the same date, our operatives intercepted a suspected cultist during a stop-and-search operation, resulting in the recovery of a locally made cut-to-size double barrel gun,” stated Edafe.

Following these arrests, CP Abaniwonda Olufemi directed that the suspects be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation.

This swift action underscores the commitment of the Delta State Police Command to ensuring the safety and security of all residents within its jurisdiction.
