Represented by the Emir of Keffi, Shehu Chindo-Yamusa III, the Sultan urged Nigerians to show respect to their leaders and uphold the rule of law. He stressed the need for citizens to pray for their leaders rather than curse them, emphasizing that this positive approach is essential for the nation’s progress.

The Vice-Chancellor of FUL, Prof. Olayemi Akinwumi, expressed gratitude for the generous donation to the university. He highlighted the symbolic significance of the mosque, stating that it reflects a shared commitment to knowledge, compassion, and service to humanity. Akinwumi encouraged others to contribute to the mosque’s further development to complete its architectural designs.

The mosque, named the Alhaji Abdullahi Habib Memorial Mosque, was built on a 150m x 250m expanse of land and holds historical importance for the university. The VC cited Quranic verses to underscore the spiritual significance of charitable acts, praising Dr. Maimuna Abdullahi for her generosity and dedication to serving God and society.

Dr. Maimuna Abdullahi, the widow and benefactor, shared that the mosque was a realization of her late husband’s dream. In honoring his wishes, the family has now built and donated three mosques in Kogi as part of their commitment to giving back to God and society. She emphasized that this initial gesture is just the beginning of their family’s resolve to serve the Almighty God. Additionally, the family donated 75 copies of the Qur’an to the mosque, further symbolizing their dedication to the service of God.
