The National Chairman of the Labour Party, Mr. Julius Abure, has predicted a decisive victory for the British Labour Party in the upcoming national election this weekend.

In a statement issued on Tuesday in Abuja, the National Publicity Secretary of the Labour Party, Mr. Obiora Ifoh, quoted Abure’s remarks.

According to Abure, based on an unbiased assessment of the current electoral process, the British Labour Party is expected to achieve a landslide victory and form the next government.

“We extend our profound solidarity to you and your entire team as you proceed to the general election in the United Kingdom. Our impartial assessment of the unfolding events in the electoral process assures us that the British Labour Party will secure a landslide victory to form the next government.

“The British Labour Party has consistently provided progressive opposition over the past fourteen years, keeping the Conservative Party in check since 2020,” he said.

Abure praised the leadership of British Labour Party leader, Keir Starmer, noting his statesmanship and transformative leadership in Parliament. This, he argued, gives Starmer a comparative advantage over Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, the Conservative Party candidate.

“This undoubtedly places the British Labour Party in a comfortable lead in public opinion and the ongoing electoral process. The July 4, 2024 election is a decisive moment in the history of democracy in the United Kingdom.

“It represents a choice between an unstable neoliberal economic policy and a progressive, regulated market economy that is people-centered and transformative.

“The Nigerian Labour Party will continue to strengthen its bond of solidarity with the British Labour Party,” he added.
