Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has appointed a new board for the Ondo State Football Agency (ODSFA), which oversees the affairs of Sunshine Stars in the Nigeria Premier Football League. The announcement, made through a statement by Chief Press Secretary Ebenezer Adeniyan, named Bamidele Ologunlowuwa, former Commissioner for Sports and Youth Development in Ondo State, as the new chairman of ODSFA. In a separate development, Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule dissolved the management team led by Othman Ibrahim of Nasarawa United, the state-owned football club recently promoted to the Nigeria Premier Football League for the 2024/25 season. Deputy Governor Emmanuel Akabe announced the decision after discussions with Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development Jafaru Ango and other officials. The club’s media officer, Eche Amos, confirmed the dissolution, indicating further details on reasons and future plans would follow in due course.
Nasarawa United had earned promotion back to the topflight league after winning the Nigeria National League, following their relegation in the 2023 season.
