Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade, goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie and defender Michelle Alozie have joined Nigeria’s camp in Ijebu Ode as preparations intensify for the 2028 Olympic Games qualifying clash against Comoros.

The trio arrived alongside midfielder Jennifer Echegini and forward Folashade Ijamilusi, bringing the number of players currently in camp to 22.

According to Bush Radio Academy, only four players — Comfort Erhabor, Gift Monday, Joy Omewa and Uchenna Kanu — are still expected to join the squad ahead of the first leg.

The Super Falcons are scheduled to continue their preparations with another training session at the Otunba Dipo Dina Stadium in Ijebu Ode as coach and players fine-tune their plans for the two-legged encounter.

The Comoros women’s national team arrived in Ijebu Ode on Monday and held their first training session on Tuesday evening as they prepare to face the nine-time African champions.

The first leg, which was initially expected to be played in Comoros, has been moved to the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne-Remo and will kick off at 6pm on Friday.

The return leg will also take place at the Remo Stars Stadium next Tuesday, meaning both matches of the Olympic qualifying tie will be played on Nigerian soil.

Ajibade and Nnadozie bring significant experience to the Falcons squad as Nigeria enters the final phase of preparations for the crucial qualifying fixtures.

The team will be hoping to make the most of home advantage and secure a favourable result in the opening encounter before completing the tie in the return leg.

The players currently in camp include goalkeepers Christiana Uzoma and Nnadozie, while defenders Farida Abdulwahab, Sandra John, Tumininu Adeshina, Valentina Uroko, Glory Edet, Shukurat Oladipo and Glory Ogbonna are also available.

Midfield options include Christy Ucheibe, Toni Payne, Favour Omenazu, Joy Igbokwe, Echegini, Fatimoh Solaty and Suliat Abideen.

The forwards in camp are Ajibade, Shakirat Moshood, Blessing Nkor, Ijamilusi and Janet Akekoromowei.

With four more players expected to arrive, the Falcons are continuing to build their squad ahead of what is expected to be a closely contested Olympic qualifying battle against Comoros.
