Supplementary Budget Of N2.1 Trillion Gets Go-Ahead From Federal Government

The Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Atiku Bagudu, conveyed this information to State House correspondents on Monday following the Federal Executive Council meeting chaired by President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa.

Bagudu clarified, “We presented a supplementary budget, and the council deliberated on a request for an appropriation of 2 trillion, 176 billion, 791 million, and 286 thousand as a supplementary budget.”

He further stated that the supplementary budget is intended to address urgent matters, including the allocation of 605 billion for defense and security to sustain ongoing efforts.

Additionally, he mentioned that 300 billion had been designated for bridge maintenance, construction, and rehabilitation, while 200 billion had been set aside as an initial fund for the agricultural sector.
