Victor Oko Jumbo, Speaker of the factional assembly supporting Fubara, confirmed that their faction has lodged an appeal at the apex court to contest a recent Abuja Court of Appeal ruling.
Previously, the Appeal Court had invalidated a Rivers State High Court injunction that barred Amaewhule and other lawmakers aligned with Wike from functioning. The Appeal Court ruled that only the Federal High Court holds jurisdiction over the lawmakers’ issue.
Governor Fubara responded to the Appeal Court’s decision by affirming his administration’s unwavering commitment to advancing essential infrastructure across the state. In a statement from his Chief Press Secretary, Nelson Chukwudi, the governor assured the public during an inspection of progress at the Zonal Hospital project in Bori Town, Khana Local Government Area.
He remarked, “I understand many may question current events. However, challenges are inherent in governance. Psalm 23:5 reminds us that God prepares a table before us, even in the presence of our adversaries. This underscores the reality that success requires perseverance.”
