Suspected Ritualists claim life Of 17-Year-Old Girl In Tragic IncidentA 17-year-old girl has been tragically murdered by suspected ritualists in Omasi village, Ayamelum Local Government Area of Anambra State.

The spokesperson for the police command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the incident in a statement on Monday, October 7, 2024. According to the report, the lifeless body of the teenager was discovered in a bush, with her private parts gruesomely removed.

“The Commissioner of Police, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam, has ordered an immediate investigation into the horrific murder of the 17-year-old girl, suspected to have been killed for ritual purposes,” the statement said.

The victim, identified as Chinasa Adigwe from Umueje village, was found in the bush at Omasi village on October 6, 2024, around 4:25 p.m. Local residents alerted the police to the scene after discovering the mutilated body.

Her body has been recovered and sent to a morgue for further examination.

The Commissioner of Police expressed his condolences to the family, friends, and community of the deceased, assuring them that the police will leave no stone unturned in apprehending those responsible for the heinous act. Further updates will be provided as the investigation unfolds.
