Confirming the tragic incident to Daily Trust, the State Chairman of MACBAN, Ibrahim Yusuf Babayo, revealed that Adamu was attacked at his residence in Barikin Ladi town shortly after breaking his Ramadan fast. Babayo strongly condemned the killing and urged security agencies to investigate and bring the perpetrators to justice.
The community’s youth leader, Danjuma Ibrahim, also confirmed the incident, stating that Adamu’s body had been deposited at the Barikin Ladi General Hospital in preparation for burial on Thursday.
Danjuma further revealed that this was the third assassination attempt on Adamu, with previous attacks proving unsuccessful.
“The gunmen ambushed him and fired multiple shots at his body before fleeing the scene. Security operatives, including the police and military, responded swiftly. We were with them at the hospital when he was rushed in,” he said.
Describing the attack as a significant loss to the community, Danjuma emphasized Adamu’s crucial role in promoting peace within Barikin Ladi. He lamented that his absence would leave a deep void, as he was instrumental in maintaining harmony in the region.
