Teenager Apprehended For Armed Robbery Of POS Operator In Minna

The Niger State Police Command has arrested a 17-year-old boy, identified as Wisdom Danjuma, for robbing a POS attendant in Minna at knifepoint.

In a statement released on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, the police spokesperson, SP Wasiu Abiodun, detailed how the suspect entered the POS shop, brandished a long, sharp knife, and threatened the attendant before stealing N100,000.

“On 13/09/2024, at about 1410hrs, a distress call was received from Bosso Divisional Headquarters that a female POS attendant at Lawu Estate, Bosso Low-Cost area, Minna, had been robbed by a suspected armed robber in her shop,” Abiodun stated.

Upon receiving the report, police officers, with the help of local community members, apprehended Danjuma, who hails from the Jikpan area of Bosso. Investigations revealed that Danjuma had forcibly entered the shop, intimidated the attendant with a knife, and stolen N100,000.

The victim raised an alarm, and while Danjuma attempted to flee, he was chased down and captured by the community and police patrol team. The knife and the stolen money were recovered from the suspect, who confessed that two other accomplices were involved. The police are currently pursuing these other suspects.
