In a widely circulated video, Mrs. Rose Idibia tearfully appealed to mothers across the country, attributing her son’s recent actions to the emotional strain of his ongoing divorce from Annie Idibia.

Addressing Osawaru directly, she said:

*”Good evening, Nigerians. My name is Mrs. Rose Idibia, the mother of 2Face. This message is for Miss Natasha Osawaru of Edo State. I am calling on all Nigerian mothers to help me beg her to leave my son alone.

My son is currently going through a divorce and is not in his right frame of mind. I know my son well—this is not him.

Please, Natasha, take off the beads you placed on his hand and neck. Free him.”*

Her emotional appeal surfaced shortly after a viral video showed 2Face proposing to Osawaru at a private event.

In response to the public backlash, 2Face took to Instagram to address the growing speculation, defending Osawaru:

“I’ve seen false narratives spreading. Hon. Natasha is not a home wrecker. She had nothing to do with my issues with Annie. I love her and want to marry her.”

Natasha Osawaru, who was elected in 2023 under the PDP to represent Egor Constituency in the Edo State House of Assembly, has yet to respond to Mrs. Idibia’s plea.
