Gwarzo was reacting to claims made by the spokesperson to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, who alleged that funds from local government councils were routed to him via his son, Mujahid.
In a statement issued on Thursday through his spokesperson, Ibrahim Garba Shuaibu, Gwarzo dismissed the allegation as completely false and misleading.
He described the claim as an attempt to tarnish his image and reputation, insisting that it has no factual basis.
According to the statement, “The allegations are mere figments of the Governor’s imagination, lacking any basis.”
Gwarzo called on his accusers to provide credible and verifiable evidence to support their claims, stressing that repeated media accusations do not constitute proof.
He maintained that he has consistently upheld transparency and accountability throughout his public service career, adding that the allegation was baseless, outrageous, and aimed at damaging his integrity.
The politician expressed confidence that the truth would eventually emerge and urged members of the public to disregard the allegations.
