The officials arrived the court premises in a prison transport van commonly referred to as a “Black Maria” and received Sowore from operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) before transporting him to the Kuje Correctional Centre.

Sowore was brought out at about 2:10 p.m. from an undisclosed location within the court premises by DSS operatives.

The activist appeared in good spirits as he spoke briefly to his supporters, urging them to remain steadfast in their push for a better society.

He also informed them that he would return to court on Wednesday for the continuation of his trial.

Sowore criticised the use of a Black Maria for his transfer, arguing that individuals accused of financial crimes are often conveyed in more comfortable vehicles.

He stated that he would have preferred being transported in a Hilux vehicle instead of the prison van, while reaffirming his commitment to advocating for accountability and good governance in Nigeria.

The AAC candidate maintained that he would continue to speak out against leaders he accused of undermining the future of younger generations.
