AGN President Emeka Rollas announced the suspension on Friday through an Instagram post.

Rollas explained that the decision was taken “out of responsibility, compassion, and a commitment to rebuilding trust” within the industry, emphasizing that the AGN considers itself a family and must prioritize the welfare of its members.

In a joint statement dated 27 November 2025, the three guilds revealed that, after reviewing the reports submitted by their disciplinary committees, they determined that Arimoro was the main aggressor in the incident.

According to the document, Arimoro allegedly assaulted the production manager and a driver, and also circulated a misleading live video that distorted the sequence of events and wrongfully implicated producer Peggy Ovire, who was reportedly not present during the initial confrontation.

The guilds collectively resolved to suspend the actor from all Nollywood-related activities until further notice.

They further stated that Arimoro is required to issue a public apology to the production manager, Peggy Ovire, and the film’s director, as well as release a corrective video clarifying the true events.

Additionally, Arimoro has been instructed to return to the movie set to complete his remaining scenes under supervision and to comply with any subsequent directives from the guilds.

In his caption accompanying the suspension notice, Emeka Rollas wrote:

“My heart is deeply connected to the wellbeing of every actor who calls this Guild home. I endorse this step not only as a leader, but as someone who understands the struggles, sacrifices, misunderstandings, and silent battles many of our members face.

“This decision comes from responsibility, love for our industry, and a sincere desire to heal, rebuild trust, and strengthen the unity we share. AGN is more than a union — it is a community with dreams, fears, hopes, and expectations, and every action we take must safeguard that.

“To our members: we hear you. We see your concerns. We share your frustrations. And we remain committed to doing what is right, even when it is difficult. This is part of our journey toward fairness, rebuilding relationships, and reinforcing that our greatest strength is unity.

“My prayer and promise remain unchanged — to lead with transparency, compassion, and sincerity. To defend justice, uphold the dignity of every actor, and guide this Guild toward a future where trust is restored, relationships are healed, and every member feels valued.”
