Dr. Shinkafi issued a seven-day ultimatum to Kaura, demanding a written public apology or face legal action.
“We will not sit back and allow the governor’s spokesman to insult respected statesmen who have previously governed our state and are still serving Nigeria in vital capacities.”
He added that Kaura must issue a formal apology within a week or risk being taken to court.
“I’m confident the governor did not authorize such a disrespectful attack on these elder statesmen. Knowing Governor Dauda Lawal, I don’t believe he would publicly condemn them in such a crude manner,” Shinkafi noted.
Describing the comments as outright character assassination, the activist emphasized that such behavior would not be tolerated in Zamfara.
He further stated that Kaura’s actions were out of place in a civilized society, stressing the need to honor elders who have made significant contributions toward improving the welfare of the people in the state.
