Tensions Rise In NNPP As House Of Reps Moves Against Deputy Minority LeaderA majority of the members of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) caucus in the House of Representatives have passed a vote of no confidence in Ali Madaki, the lawmaker representing Dala Federal Constituency. As a result, they have endorsed his removal as Deputy Minority Leader of the House.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Madaki’s removal comes after he distanced himself from the Kwankwasiyya movement, a faction associated with NNPP’s 2023 presidential candidate, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso. Instead, Madaki expressed his loyalty to Boniface Aniebonam, the party’s founding father.
The motion to remove Madaki was formalized with 15 NNPP lawmakers signing the resolution, while three members—Alhassan Rurum (Rano/Kibiya/Bunkure), Abdullahi Sani (Karaye/Rogo), and Madaki himself—opposed the decision.
In a letter addressed to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abbas Tajudeen, the NNPP leadership nominated Tijjani Jobe, the representative for Dawakin Tofa/Tofa/Rimingado Federal Constituency, as Madaki’s replacement. The letter, signed by NNPP National Chairman Ajuji Ahmed and Secretary Dipo Olayoku, read, “The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) wishes to extend greetings to you, the leadership, and all members of the House of Representatives. We submit the name of Hon. Tijjani AbdulKadir Jobe as the replacement for Hon. Aliyu Sani Madaki as Deputy Minority Leader of the House.”
The NNPP urged the Speaker to address the matter swiftly, underscoring its significance to the party, its caucus, and the House as a whole.
