In a Facebook statement, Ejiofor highlighted the contradiction of assurances that terrorists have repented while revealing that many of them have been incorporated into the country’s security apparatus. He pointed to a recent incident where terrorists successfully breached Kuje prison in the heart of the nation’s capital, freeing high-profile members and other inmates without facing consequences.

Nigeria’s Economic Future At Risk Due To Widespread Corruption

Ejiofor criticized the lack of accountability in the aftermath of the prison break, emphasizing that no arrests were made and no officials were prosecuted. He noted that the country appeared to resume normal activities as if the incident had not occurred.

The legal counsel drew attention to the escalating atrocities committed by these terrorists, citing instances such as the Christmas day massacre in Plateau State and numerous kidnappings. He argued that the terrorists, having expanded their operations from other states, are now operating unchecked in Abuja, the FCT.

Ejiofor expressed frustration at the repeated claims of terrorist rehabilitation and integration into the security forces, questioning the wisdom behind such decisions. He concluded by lamenting the compromised state of Nigeria’s security architecture and its detrimental impact on the overall safety of its citizens.
