The Wait Was All Worth It — 37-Year-Old South African Woman Celebrates Marriage After Staying A Virgin
A 37-year-old South African woman, Zukiswa Joyi, has celebrated her marriage after openly documenting her journey of sexual purity over the years.
Joyi got married in a church ceremony on Saturday, October 3, 2026, after her lobola ceremony was held in March.
Following the wedding, she took to Facebook to express gratitude to God for giving her strength throughout the period she described as a long and challenging wait.
According to Bush Radio Academy, Joyi said she remained grateful for the outcome, describing her marriage as an answered prayer and declaring that the wait had ultimately been worthwhile.
“Hitched for life. Jesus has done this. Answered Prayer. He truly honors those who honor him. The wait was all worth it,” she wrote.
The newlywed also reflected on moments when she felt discouraged, saying she drew strength from her Christian faith. She noted that she got married as a virgin at the age of 37 and attributed her experience to what she described as the grace of God.
Joyi used her story to encourage others who are pursuing sexual purity, maintaining that virginity and purity are possible despite societal pressures.
She also emphasized that people who may have experienced setbacks can still find restoration and redemption, urging her followers not to give up on their values.
Her post has since drawn attention online, with many people celebrating her marriage and reacting to her message about faith, patience and personal convictions.
