He noted that witnessing the current state of his legacy projects triggers emotional distress, stating:

“Seeing the condition of those projects now causes a mental breakdown.”

Amaechi elaborated:

“When I became governor, people asked if I delivered. Today, some celebrate one flyover—yet I built six, without fanfare or presidential commissions. I constructed model primary and secondary schools, including facilities that could rival universities, with proper accommodations and trained staff—Indian science teachers and Nigerian arts teachers.”

“Those schools are now neglected and vandalised. That’s the reason I avoid Rivers—it’s disheartening.”

He also recalled initiating a 24-hour power-supplied city project during his administration, which, like others, has been abandoned and left to decay.
