He sounded the alarm after sharing a disturbing video on his Instagram page showing a terrified young woman who had been kidnapped by armed men. In the clip, the victim tearfully begged for help as her captors demanded ransom.

Expressing deep worry over the worsening insecurity, Israel said residents of Edo now live in constant fear as kidnappers reportedly operate freely on highways and within rural communities.

He wrote:

“This is becoming too much. The Federal Government should please come to our aid in Edo State.”

In a related development, gunmen suspected to be kidnappers abducted six passengers, including three officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), on Tuesday along the Aloma axis of Kogi State.

The victims — identified as Chinenye Orji, Adamaka Anih, and Catherine Temaugee — were reportedly on an official assignment to Anambra State ahead of the November 8 governorship election when they were attacked.

According to sources quoted by Sahara Reporters, the INEC officials were en route to print voters’ registers and other sensitive election materials before the incident occurred.
