This controversy surfaced when one of the suspended staff members appeared before a House of Representatives panel investigating explosive claims about socialite Bobrisky allegedly bribing correctional officers to receive preferential treatment. Instead of serving time in a prison cell, it was claimed Bobrisky was placed in an apartment. The suspended official, while testifying, insisted that the suspension wasn’t real in practice, contrasting what had been reported.

Addressing the Minister of Interior directly, Rufai stated, “Dear Minister of Interior, those you suspended said your suspension was social media suspension, kindly let us know what went wrong.” Rufai’s comments highlight the growing public concern over the integrity of the suspension process and call for clarification from the authorities on what actions are actually being enforced.
