Announced by Pol Major General Phanthana Nutchanart, the deputy chief of the Immigration Bureau, the arrests were disclosed on Wednesday, unveiling allegations of a collaborative effort in distributing cocaine to clientele over the preceding weekend.

During the operation, a variety of illegal substances, including cocaine, ecstasy, and methamphetamine, valued at approximately 4.9 million baht, were confiscated from the suspects.

The investigative trail commenced in early April following a tip-off from a cohort of foreign nationals, pinpointing a Russian individual named Denis allegedly implicated in car rental and cryptocurrency dealings. Further inquiries unraveled Denis’s procurement of cocaine from two Nigerian associates, identified as Harison and Ogadinma. The duo was subsequently apprehended, with 1.4 grams of cocaine discovered concealed in their vehicle.

The investigative thread led authorities to a residence in Chalong, Phuket, where a 53-year-old Nigerian national named Solomon, purportedly the linchpin of the drug trafficking operation, was arrested. A substantial cache of narcotics, including 855 ecstasy tablets, 470 grams of cocaine, and 127.8 grams of methamphetamine, was seized from the premises.

According to law enforcement officials, street prices for narcotics in Phuket are outlined as follows: Ecstasy ranging from 1,000 to 2,000 baht per pill, Cocaine priced between 4,000 to 5,000 baht per gram, and Methamphetamine valuing between 1,500 to 2,000 baht per gram.
