The Public Relations Officer of the Port, Mr. Shola Adesanwo, stated that the fire started from a gantry crane’s tyre but was swiftly contained by firefighters, preventing further damage.

While details on the cause of the fire are still unclear, investigations are underway. Efforts to reach the management of Port and Cargo for further information have been unsuccessful.
