Insiders suggest that several key ministries could be impacted, including the Ministries of Petroleum Resources, Power, Transport, Water Resources, Environment, and Defense. There is growing discontent within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) over the administration’s performance, with concerns that failure to address economic issues could jeopardize the party’s chances in the 2027 elections.

An APC leader, who preferred to remain anonymous, criticized President Tinubu’s economic policies and expressed frustration over the delay in replacing Simon Lalong, the former Minister of Labour and Employment. The leader also highlighted the vacant position in the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs as a significant concern, questioning why a competent replacement has not yet been appointed.

The APC chieftain pointed out that current political considerations seem to overshadow pressing national issues. Lalong resigned to join the Senate, while Betta Edu, the former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, was suspended amid corruption allegations.
