This change was confirmed by a senior official within the National Assembly, who indicated that an official statement regarding the new date will be issued shortly. The rescheduling follows an earlier announcement by Senate President Godswill Akpabio during Thursday’s plenary, where he had stated that the budget presentation was initially set for December 17.

Akpabio had also shared details about the event, confirming that the presentation would take place in the House of Representatives chamber. He further noted that the Senate session would start at 10:30 am, allowing senators time to gather in the Red Chamber before proceeding together in a formal procession to the House of Representatives for the presentation.

In November, President Tinubu submitted the 2025-2027 Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) and Fiscal Strategy Paper (FSP) to both chambers of the National Assembly.
