President Bola Tinubu has appointed Ajuri Ngelale, his special adviser on media and publicity, as the Special Presidential Envoy on Climate Action. Ngelale will serve in this role as part of a larger Presidential Committee chaired by Tinubu.
According to a State House statement released on Sunday by Segun Imohiosen, the Director of Information & Public Relations, this appointment is a strategic move by President Tinubu to advance his administration’s climate and green economic initiatives.
The newly established Presidential Committee on Climate Action and Green Economic Solutions will coordinate and oversee all policies and programs related to climate action and green economic development. The committee aims to remove coordination constraints, promote a comprehensive government approach to climate action, provide an efficient governance structure, and ensure that all relevant institutions are aligned with the President’s vision, collectively implementing the Renewed Hope Agenda on climate action.
