President Bola Tinubu has shared details of a conversation that led him to threaten the dismissal of Nyesom Wike, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, from his cabinet.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

During a Sallah homage to the State House in Abuja on Sunday, led by Wike and FCT residents, Tinubu revealed that Wike had requested an exemption from the Treasury Single Account (TSA) to enhance his performance as FCT Minister.

However, Tinubu stated that he warned Wike that if the proposed exemption favored the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) more than the All Progressives Congress (APC) and jeopardized his electoral prospects, Wike would risk losing his ministerial position.

Recalling the conversation, Tinubu said, “He (Wike) came up with a lot of good ideas. I remember the day Nyesom Wike came to me and said, ‘Please take us out of this problem of TSA so I can do more work and achieve more.’ I asked him to show me his plan, and after presenting it, I jokingly remarked, ‘Would that give my party a better chance of winning elections in the FCT? If it benefits your party more, you might lose your job.’”

Wike, in response, reportedly replied, “We will settle that, oga.”

Despite being a member of the PDP, Wike actively opposed his party’s candidate during the 2023 presidential election and was later appointed as FCT Minister by President Tinubu, who ran under the APC banner.
