Represented by George Akume, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, President Tinubu lauded Clark as a patriotic leader and household name, referring to him as the “Iroko of the South-South” and an “eagle of the nation.” Tinubu highlighted Clark’s unwavering belief in national unity, which is evident in his personally authored book.

President Tinubu, acknowledging the nation’s ongoing challenges, stressed the importance of preserving Nigeria’s integrity and resisting disintegration.

He reiterated his plea for patience among Nigerians in the face of the hardships brought about by the removal of petroleum subsidy, noting that solutions to these problems cannot be immediate.

He further acknowledged Nigeria’s complexity but maintained that it is not insurmountable.

President Tinubu expressed confidence that the palliatives initiated by the federal government would soon ameliorate the hardship felt nationwide, fostering a better future.
