Tinubu Offers Lifeline: Children Of Late FCT Head Of Service Get Automatic Federal Jobs Nigerians React

President Bola Tinubu has approved automatic employment for the four children of the late Head of the Civil Service of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Dr. Grace Adayilo, who passed away recently.

The disclosure was made by the Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike, during her funeral service held on Saturday at the National Ecumenical Centre, Abuja.

The solemn event was graced by top government officials, civil servants, family members, and friends, who gathered to pay their last respects.

Wike described Adayilo’s death as a painful loss, praising her as a dedicated and humble administrator who gave her all to the FCT Administration.

“On behalf of the FCT Administration and Mr. President, I extend our heartfelt condolences to her family. The President has directed that her four children be offered automatic employment, recognising the family’s loss of its breadwinner,” Wike announced.

He commended Adayilo’s invaluable contributions, noting her pivotal role in ensuring prompt payment of workers’ salaries and benefits. Beyond her service, she was also celebrated as a respected community mobiliser whose influence extended well outside the civil service.

“She was humble, hardworking, and selfless. Her impact on the FCT Administration will remain unforgettable,” Wike said.

At the service, colleagues and loved ones remembered Adayilo as a compassionate leader with a motherly touch, deeply committed to the welfare of others.

Wike further urged Nigerians to draw lessons from her exemplary life of service, reminding them of the uncertainty of life.

“We must learn from her legacy. None of us knows tomorrow. What matters most is the impact we leave behind,” he advised.
