Ngelale expressed that President Tinubu anticipates a strong performance from the Super Eagles in the upcoming match. The statement conveyed, “H.E. President Bola Tinubu today receives a Nigeria Football token ahead of the Super Eagles’ Round of 16 clash against Cameroon at the African Cup of Nations. The President looks forward to a quality showing from our men!”
In a related development, Ahmed Musa, the Captain of the Super Eagles, acknowledged that the upcoming clash against Cameroon in the 2023 AFCON round of 16, scheduled for tonight at 9 p.m., will be a more challenging encounter compared to their previous meeting. Musa highlighted that the last encounter in the 2019 AFCON round of 16 saw Nigeria emerge victorious with a 3-2 scoreline, leading to their advancement to the quarter-finals. However, he emphasized that this time, facing the Indomitable Lions might pose a tougher challenge for the Super Eagles.
