When his administration assumed power 16 months ago, Nigeria was grappling with severe economic and security challenges. Tinubu explained that his government faced a choice between enacting significant reforms or risking further economic decline. Ultimately, they chose the path of reform to foster progress and stability.

“My administration took over the leadership of our country 16 months ago at a critical juncture. The economy faced many headwinds, and our physical security was highly impaired. We found ourselves at a dizzying crossroads, where we had to choose between two paths: reform for progress and prosperity or continuing business as usual and facing collapse. We decided to reform our political economy and defence architecture,” Tinubu stated.

The President acknowledged that many Nigerians are struggling with the rising cost of living and finding it difficult to make ends meet. However, he assured them that he is implementing measures to alleviate their suffering and improve their quality of life.

Tinubu urged Nigerians to remain patient, emphasizing that there is light at the end of the tunnel and that better days are ahead.
