While acknowledging progress in eliminating certain security threats, President Tinubu stressed the importance of concluding the ongoing efforts to address the complex security issues. He highlighted the critical investments needed in soft and physical infrastructure, social security, MSME empowerment, and other growth enablers to achieve the goal of a $1 trillion economy in the coming years.

Addressing security chiefs and heads of intelligence agencies, President Tinubu expressed satisfaction with the improved coordination among agencies but cautioned against repeating avoidable errors, citing an incident in Kaduna. He commended the success achieved by the armed forces but emphasized the necessity of ending the security challenges, bringing troops back to their localities, and allocating resources for economic expansion.

President Tinubu set a specific objective for the armed forces, urging them to ensure the nation’s sustainable production of two million barrels of crude oil per day by the first quarter of 2024. He emphasized the need for the Navy and sister branches to enhance their efforts to achieve national aims.

Warning against malign actors working against the national agenda, both internally and externally, President Tinubu affirmed a commitment to aggressive action against such elements. He emphasized that failure is not an option under his leadership.

The President also recognized and promoted dedicated officers, including Air Commodore Olayinka Olusola Oyesola, Commander of the Presidential Air Fleet, who became Air Vice Marshal. Similarly, Adebisi Olusegun Onasanya, Commander of the Brigade of Guards, was promoted to Brigadier-General, and Usman Musa Shugaba, the President’s Chief Personal Security Officer, attained the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police.

President Tinubu commended the promoted officers for their loyalty and dedication to duty, stating that Nigeria values their service. The officers were decorated at the event, attended by high-ranking officials, including the Chief of Air Staff, Chief of Army Staff, Inspector General of Police, National Security Adviser, Minister of State for Defence, service chiefs, heads of intelligence agencies, and presidential aides.
