Tiwa Savage Spills The Truth: Why She Stopped Talking To Davido

Speaking on The Breakfast Club, the award-winning artist reflected on their much-talked-about clash in December 2023, explaining how the rift began.
According to her, the misunderstanding started after she posted an Instagram story featuring Sophia Momodu, Davido’s first baby mama. Savage said her friendship with Momodu developed naturally since their children have been close friends from an early age, attending the same school.
However, Davido allegedly misread the situation, assuming she had taken sides. This, she revealed, led to heated exchanges and threatening messages.
Out of concern for her safety, Tiwa filed a police petition — a move she emphasized was purely precautionary, not out of malice. She also noted that she initially attempted to resolve the issue privately by reaching out through Davido’s family, but with no success.
Clarifying her stance, Savage insisted she harbors no hatred toward Davido. Instead, her priority remains the well-being of their children.
She said:
“He thought I was picking sides, but that wasn’t the case. Sophia is simply the mother of my son’s friend. Our kids have been close since they were one, and they’re 10 now. I’ve known David for years, but I also built a bond with Sophia without realizing there were issues between them. I haven’t spoken to him since, but I still care about him. For me, the children come first.”
