The cause of the fire remains unknown, but a local resident, Joe, shared that he was alerted to the incident around 4 a.m.

According to Joe, residents reached out to the fire service team at Dunamis Church, who arrived at the scene around 5 a.m. After hours of struggling to contain the blaze, personnel from the Federal Fire Service stations at EFCC and Sauka finally brought the fire under control by 6 a.m.
