Gunmen suspected of being kidnappers have abducted and subsequently murdered Alhaji Garba Badamasi, the traditional ruler of Riruwai village in Lame District, Toro Local Government Area of Bauchi State.
Reports indicate that the Sarkin Ruruwai was forcefully taken from his palace on the night of Friday, March 15, 2024, amidst gunfire aimed at dispersing nearby residents.
Tragically, the lifeless body of the traditional ruler was discovered abandoned close to the village during the early hours of Sunday morning, March 17.
According to sources, the abductors made no demands for ransom from the family members of the deceased.
Alhaji Garba Badamasi was laid to rest in accordance with Islamic customs in Gumau town, Toro LGA, on Sunday.
This heinous act marks yet another instance of gunmen perpetrating violence in Bauchi, causing shock and grief among the community.
