Tragedy Strikes Jigawa: Governor Mourns Loss Of Beloved Mother, Burial Set For Wednesday

Her passing was announced in a statement by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Hamisu Mohammed Gumel, on Wednesday. According to the statement, she passed away in the early hours of the day.

The late Hajia Maryam Namadi will be laid to rest at 4:30 PM in her hometown of Kafin Hausa, Jigawa State, in accordance with Islamic burial rites.

The governor and his family have called for prayers for her soul and requested that sympathizers keep the family in their thoughts during this time of mourning.

Police Raid Criminal Camp in Anambra, Arrest Suspects

In a separate development, a security operation led by the Nigerian Police Force successfully dismantled a criminal camp in Nimo, Njikoka Local Government Area, Anambra State, on Tuesday.

The operation, confirmed in a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer for Anambra State, Tochukwu Ikenga, involved a coalition of security forces, including the Military, Civil Defence, and local vigilante groups.

Ikenga noted that the raid was based on credible intelligence about the activities of the criminal group and information obtained from suspects arrested in ongoing police operations across the state.

The State Commissioner of Police, Nnaghe Obono Itam, commended the joint effort of security agencies and the community’s vigilance in providing actionable intelligence, which led to the successful operation.
